From the physics department at the UofA:
Last week, on Tuesday, July 17th, there was an incident involving the behavior of one of our undergraduate students, [name redacted], in the AMS Lab. ?This incident has been under review by the Dean of Students Office for the past week, and was resolved at a meeting yesterday. [name redacted] is no longer a student at The University of Arizona, and is not allowed on campus. ?If any of you who know him see him on campus, please call 911. It is believed that this episode has been resolved satisfactorily.
No further information was provided by the department, and I can’t find anything on the university police or local news sites. I also suspect they meant “June” rather than “July”.
Anyone have further details? I was out of the country at the time.
I don’t go to UofA and didn’t see anything on the local news (though admittedly I don’t watch the local news much).
Rest assured though, that the UofA campus has been declared a “weapons-free zone” (I’ve seen the signs). So I suspect there’s little danger of whoever this is returning to take care of some unfinished business.
We can only hope.
BTW… The monsoon is underway. It rained here today, although 4 SCOTUS Justices dissented as they wouldn’t know rain if it hit ’em in the face.

*snerk* Yeah, I hear ya.
I can’t wait to get back for the monsoon. I love heavy rains (though not so much when on the scooter!), and can’t wait to be back. It also allows me to test out some of my disaster preparedness if the power goes out — last time it happened, I realized that keeping my Maglites (which are black) in a dark drawer in a dark corner of my dark kitchen was probably not so smart. 🙂
